At H.Y.P.E., our coaches and trainers are mentors who inspire, guide, and push athletes to reach their highest potential. With diverse backgrounds and a shared passion for sports and development, our team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the training field.

Owner/Head Trainer

Throughout my career in athletics I feel I was able to succeed based on my driven attitude as a competitor and my determination to be the best. Versatility was my strong suit as I competed nationally in 3 Track & Field Junior Olympics, 2 World Taekwondo Championships, as well as playing soccer, basketball, rugby, and football. Even though I never felt I had all the resources that my peers did, I am grateful for the Youth Coaches and Mentors that profoundly made an impact. They assisted me in learning valuable skills, both mentally and physically that I used at the University of Montana and on my Professional Football endeavors.

H.Y.P.E. was created to help athletes achieve the same opportunities that I had through training and development. I believe in giving everyone the opportunity to improve from where they are before focusing on where they can be. The core of our training program focuses on fundamental movements, proper technique, running mechanics, and Mind/Muscle connections. We strive at creating a fun atmosphere that is both competitive and respectful.

Coach Jorge Rentas
Defensive Specialist/Strength & Conditioning Coach

Originally from Columbus Georgia, I moved to Bellingham Washington in the late 90's, where I attended Squalicum High School. It wasn't just a geographical change but a huge cultural change as well, especially in the sports world.

Growing up I started playing baseball. Once tackle football started, my love for the sport grew. I played through out high school, and continued to play recreational flag years after. I wanted to give back to my community so I started coaching youth flag. From there it evolved into tackle and training kids of all ages. Eager to do more, I created a Semi-Pro team (Whatcom Vikings) to give adult athletes the opportunity to continue to play football after high school.

To this day my love for the sport of football continues to grow. I strive to be the person I never had; being the coach that cares for the success of his players, not his reputation.
